VTHoF Academic Scholarship

The Virginia Trapshooting Hall of Fame is proud to support young athletes pursuing both their educational and trapshooting goals. Each year, we award a $500 scholarship to a Virginia youth shooter who demonstrates excellence in academics, character, and commitment to our sport.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a current Virginia resident

  • Be an ATA junior gold, junior, or sub-junior

  • Pursue a university degree or technical/trade certification as a full-time student

  • Be enrolled by fall of the current year

  • Have registered at least 1,000 ATA targets in the two prior calendar years

  • Remain an ATA member for one calendar year after receiving the scholarship

Selection Criteria

Recipients are chosen based on:

  • Academic achievement (GPA, scores, honors)

  • Extracurricular involvement

  • Leadership and community service

  • Financial need

$500 award deposited directly into the student's account at their school

Submit:

  • Completed VTHoF Scholarship Application

  • Financial aid office documentation

  • Transcript (official or unofficial)

  • Essay or personal statement

  • One letter of reference

  • Materials must be received by June 15th, 2026

  • Winner announced at the VTA State Trapshoot
